Really interesting movie. Huston envisioned this adaption to be washed with a golden glow. The studio allowed that... for just one week. It ''lived'' with the gilded hue for 7 days thereafter it was shown only in the standard Technicolor version. The ''golden version'' was restored upon the releasing the DVD.Brando goes out out on a limb here, even by his fearless standards. Sometimes works for him, sometimes not. The golden tint works beautifully; it really seems to draw the viewer in. This is a much better film than it has been given credit for. Taylor, by the way, is superb and at her sexiest. Seeing her in this really banishes any memories of the bloated, painkiller-addicted, wheelchair-bound, Michael Jackson-befriending later years. :-DThanks a million! Hvala!
